[Also in Group XXV] A door and window securing system for a motor vehicle comprises an electrically-operated window regulator for at least one operable window, a key-operated door-locking system for a door of the vehicle, and means arranged, on operating the key of the door-locking system, to energize said window regulator so as to close the window should it be open. As shown, each front door has a key-operated switch 20 operating an electric lock 15, and a relay unit 30 which causes the window-reguting motor 25 to operate to wind up the window. A micro-switch 45 is arranged in the circuit to cut-off the motor when the window is fully closed. Each door has a manuallyoperated switch 70 for operating the motor 25 to open or close the windows, and a thermal overload circuit-breaker 79 which breaks the circuit when the motor has been stalled for about three seconds. The four door circuits are connected so that if either front door is locked, or unlocked all the four doors are locked or unlocked, and so that when the doors are locked any open window of the four windows is closed. Four manually-operated switches 75 are incorporated on the dashboard, each of which is equivalent to a switch 70, and performs the same duties. Minor alternatives to the circuit shown are described briefly. |
