PURPOSE:To enable instantaneous alteration to a side mark and to make it possible to identify the mark in an undeveloped state, after development in an unexposed state and even after development in an exposed state by colliding the tips of plural needles against the surface of a film under control to cause a dotted change to the surface of the film. CONSTITUTION:A platen roller 2, a controller 3, a turning position detecting means 4, a dot impact printer head 5 and a mark setting means 7 are arranged. Every time a photographic film 1 is travelled by a prescribed length, the controller 3 controls the supply of electric current to the solenoid of the head 5 in accordance with a signal from the means 4 and controls the action of needles 51a-51j so that the tips of the needles are collided against the surface of the film 1 to record a side mark 6 inputted from the means 7. Since the mark 6 is formed by colliding the tips of the needles 51 against the surface of the film 1 under high pressure, instantaneous alteration to the mark and changeover are enabled and the mark can be identified in an undeveloped state, after development in an unexposed state and even after development in an exposed or X-ray irradiated state. |
