PURPOSE:To form a toner thin film uniformly on the outer periphery of a developing roller and to charge the toner thin layer uniformly and electrostatically by constituting the developing roller by winding cylindrically a film formed by sticking a toner layer of uniform thickness previously on a thin film base. CONSTITUTION:The film formed by sticking the toner layer 9 on the thin film base 8 to uniform thickness is wound spirally into a cylinder. The developing roller 7 rotates at a development position in the same direction with a photosensitive drum 1 and then the new toner layer 9 is supplied continuously. Then the used film is peeled off by a recovery plate 10 and the new film having an uncharged toner layer 9 below it appears; and an electrostatic charging means 6 charges the toner layer 9 by friction and the film moves to the development position and contacts an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive drum 1 to attract toner to the electrostatic latent image, which becomes a visible image. Consequently, the thickness of the toner layer 9 on the developing roller 7 becomes uniform and constant for a long period and uniform electrostatic charging is securely performed. |
