PURPOSE:To enhance color formation sensitivity, maximum color density, processing stability, etc., by adding a specified magenta coupler, and a specified development inhibitor releasing compd. to a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a nonsensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer. CONSTITUTION:An objective silver halide color photographic sensitive material is obtained by adding a magenta coupler having formulaI(R1 is benzamido, anilino, or phenylureido, each having sulfonamide, and R2 is aryl or heterocyclic), such as formula II, and a compd. selected from development inhibitor releasing compds. having formulae III and IV (R3 is H, halogen, acylamino, alkyl, or optionally substd. alkoxy, and X is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to complete a 5-, or 6-membered ring), such as formula V or VI.
