PURPOSE:To adjust the focus of a camera equipped with a lens shutter with high accuracy by providing a light shield member in front of a photographic image plane and moving a light shield member away and putting the shutter in exposure operation when the shutter is closed after automatic focus adjustment. CONSTITUTION:The light shield member 16 in front of the photographic image plane F, a driving means which operates a photographic lens 2, and a shutter sequence control means are provided, and while the shutter 8 is released by camera operation, automatic focus adjusting operation is carried out; when the shutter 8 is closed successively, the light shield member 16 is moved away and the shutter 8 is put in exposure operation. The photographic image plane F is shielded by sectors 16b-16g as the shield member only right before the exposure operation, so the sectors 16b-16g are constituted by inexpensive light shield members of simple structure. Consequently, errors characteristic to an individual camera are absorbed and high-accuracy automatic focus adjustment is enabled. |
