Process for growing plant or animal cells and/or tissue under sterile conditions is carried out in a sealed wrapping of a transparent semipermeable plastics film with a permeability to water vapour of at most 0.05 g/100 cm2 per 24 hrs. and thickness of ca. 25.4 micro.
