PURPOSE:To uniformize the product quality by providing means for measuring the temp. of a weld zone and the intensity of the light emitted at the time of processing within a device for observing the weld zone and controlling the operations of an oscillator and positioning device in accordance with the outputs from both the measuring means. CONSTITUTION:The device 7, such as TV camera, for observing the weld zone, the instrument 8 for measuring the temp. of the weld zone, and the instrument 9 for measuring the intensity of the light emitted at the time of processing are disposed to the device 6 for observing a work. The instrument 8 detects an abnormal fluctuation of laser energy and the abnormality of the measured temp. after welding and controls the oscillator 1 and the positioning device 4 to control beam irradiation conditions at the time when the work 5 is subjected to laser beam welding by means of the laser beam 2. The welding condition is decided by the intensity of the specific wavelength of the light generated in the same manner as the instrument 9 and the oscillator 1 and the positioning device 4 are monitored and controlled according to the fluctuation in the measured value. Since welding is executed by monitoring the abnormality of the welding condition at all times, the product quality is uniformized. |
