PURPOSE:To obtain a good image even if image formation is repeatedly carried out by making combination use of irradiation of electromagnetic waves and impression of DC voltage in a destaticizing stage. CONSTITUTION:The charge remaining on the surface of a photosensitive body 10 is removed by an electrostatic charger 17 and after the residual toner is recovered by a cleaning part 18, the potential on the surface of the body 10 is completely neutralized by the irradiation of a destaticizing lamp 19. Since the photoirradiation and the corona discharge in the destaticization stage are used in combination in such a manner, the smaller quantity of the light for irradiation is necessitated and, therefore, the increase in the quantity of the electrostatic charge trapped in the body 10 is prevented and the increase of the white ground potential is prevented. Fogging is less generated even by the repetitive irradiation and since the lower voltage to be impressed is necessitated, the quantity of the ozone and NOx generated decreases and the image flow is eliminated. The good image which is substantially the same as the initial image is thus obtd. |
