PURPOSE:To reduce friction between a side weir and a drum and to restrain the development of casting burr by supplying lubricator on sliding face between the cooling drum and the side weir. CONSTITUTION:The sliding face 2-3 between the side weir 2 and the drum is made of ceramic plate and lubricator supply tank 5 is fitted to the side weir 2, and in the lower part of the tank 5, a lubricator supply passage 2-5 is arranged so as to reach to the sliding face 2-3 of the ceramic plate after penetrating an iron shell 2-1 and a base plate 2-2. Further, on the surface of the ceramic plate, groove 2-6 for improving spreading of lubricator is arranged. By this method, the development of the casting burr at the end face of the drum is restrained by using the lubricator and break-away of the developed casting burr can be improved. |
