摘要 PURPOSE:To make illumination light reach to a manuscript without being transmitted through an adhesion type image sensor while using the image sensor at an attitude non-parallel with the manuscript by disposing a photoelectric conversion section receiving reflected light from the manuscript of illumination light emitted in the specified direction near the nose section of a light transmitting substrate. CONSTITUTION:Since the nose of an adhesion type image sensor S is set so as to be positioned at a section lower than a line tying each contact of a feed roll 18 and a manuscript drive roll 20 and a manuscript A, the manuscript A is pushed against the nose of the adhesion type image sensor S by tension, and a distance between the manuscript A and a photoelectric conversion section 6 is kept constant. When the manuscript A is moved, illumination light 3a is applied from a light source 3, and the illumination light 3a is total-reflected by the reflecting layer 2a section of an inclined end face 1b, is propagated while total-reflecting the inside of a light transmitting substrate 1 and reaches to an inclined end face 1a as an optical-path changing means, and is total reflected by the end face 1a section and the surface of the manuscript A is irradiated with the light 3a. The illumination light 3a reflected by the surface of the manuscript A is changed into intense and work reflected light 3b by the characters of the manuscript A and reaches to the photoelectric conversion section 6 driven by an IC 5 for drive, and is converted into the electric signal of time series with the movement of the manuscript A by photoelectric conversion action.
