NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by the formula having the following physicochemical properties: Appearance, white powder; molecular weight, 318; molecular formula, C19H26O4; melting point, 278-279 deg.C; specific rotation, [alpha]D=+34 deg. (=0.1, methanol); EI mass spectrum, m/z=318; solubility, soluble in ethanol, methanol, ethyl acetate and chloroform and insoluble in water and hexane. USE:A human breast cancer (MCF-7) growing inhibitor and human placenta- derived esteridiene synthetic enzyme (aromatase) inhibiting agent. PREPARATION:Acremonium strictum N,N 106 strain (FERM P-9143) is cultivated in a culture medium and then liquid obtained by dissolving 4-androstene-3,17- dione which is used as a substrate in DMF is added to the above-mentioned culture medium and the mixture is subjected to reaction. After the reaction, the supernatant is extracted with ethyl acetate and further subjected to chromatography treatment. |
