<p>PURPOSE:To prevent damage to the edges of a magnetic tape by performing an unloading operation in an arbitrary position in an unload area on the magnetic tape and recording data to be recorded from an external device into the area except this unloading. CONSTITUTION:When receiving a tape unloading instruction, a mechanical controller 112 rotates a supply reel 5a, winds a magnetic tape 3 pulled out until then on the side of a supply reel 5s and performs it until the output of a mode sensor 123 becomes 'tape unloading completion', which is opposite to the operation to a tape loading instruction. Thus, the magnetic tape 3 is unloaded from a rotary cylinder 1 only in the unloading area set beforehand on the tape 3 and the data to be recorded are recorded from the external device into the area except this unloading. Thus, the damage to the edges of the magnetic tape can be prevented.</p> |
