PURPOSE:To obtain an electrode element efficiently converting light energy into electric energy by coating a conducting polymer film on a metal or carbon conducting thin film. CONSTITUTION:A working electrode deposited with a metal or carbon thin film 1c on the surface of a film 1b deposited with ITO, for example, on the surface of a light-permeable support substrate 1a and a counter electrode 2 are immersed in an electrolytic solution 3 dissolved with aniline, thiophene, pyrrole, or their derivatives and an electrolyte. When the potential difference is applied across the electrodes while the working electrode serves as a positive electrode, electrolysis oxidation polymerization occurs on the working electrode, an organic material is made a conducting polymer layer 1d, a film is formed on the working electrode. A light-responsive polymer-coated electrode thus obtained is cleaned with distilled water or alcohol then dried for use. |
