PURPOSE:To secure high positioning accuracy and to realize low-loss connection by pressing a wedge in between a cylindrical member and a ferrule and fixing the both. CONSTITUTION:The wedge 3 is pressed in between the ferrule 1 and cylindrical member 2 and both fixed. The front surface part of the inner periphery of the cylindrical member 2 is chamferred so as to facilitate the pressing of the wedge 3. When the optical connector plug is assembled, the end surface of the ferrule 1 is observed by using a microscope to confirm the polarizing direction of a polarization plane maintaining fiber held by it, and the ferrule 1 is marked. Then the ferrule 1 and cylindrical member 2 are combined coaxially so that the marked position meets the projection part 2a of the cylindrical member 2, and the wedge 3 is pressed in between both in this state. Consequently, continuous positioning is enabled, the high positioning accuracy is secured, and the connection loss is reduced. |
