PURPOSE:To improve the photographic characteristic, the shelf-life and the pressurization property of the title material by incorporating a specified silver halide particle which has at least two peaks in the distribution curve of a particle diameter or a thickness in the photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide particle which has the thickness of <0.5mum and the diameter of >=0.2mum and the ratio of the mean particle diameter to the thickness of the particle of >=2, and is composed of a tabular silver halide particle (a tabular particle) having a silver iodide content of <=7mol.%, and has at least two peaks in the distribution curve of the particle diameter or the thickness in the tabular particle is incorporated in at least one layer of the photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers contd. in the photosensitive material. The silver halide emulsion is used by mixing plural kinds of a monodisperse emulsion and/or a polydisperse emulsion as required so as to be obtained the particle size distribution as mentioned above. Thus, the sharpness, the shelf-life and the pressurization of the photosensitive material are improved. |
