VARIABLE SPEED GENERATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To maintain stable rotating speed irrespective of the condition of loads by keeping the frequency of the AC exciting current of a variable speed generator constant in a partial load zone having a fear of generating unstable oscillation. CONSTITUTION:A switchover means 12 optionally selects and outputs one of the output signals of a frequency command signal generating means 11 for generating signals of a defined constant frequency and a phase detector 2. An AC exciting means generates an AC exciting power for a variable speed generator 1 based on the output of the switchover means 12. As the frequency of the AC exciting current of the variable speed generator 1 is kept constant, the variable speed generator 1 acts as a synchronizer, to perform a constant speed operation at a rotating speed which is determined by the difference between the frequency of a power system at this time and the frequency of the AC exciting current.
