Process for loading high-temperature hydride storage materials with hydrogen

In the described process, the whole storage contents no longer need to be brought to the temperature required for hydrogen uptake, but only about 1-20 per cent of the storage material is brought to the reaction temperature, while the remainder reaches the reaction temperature due to the heat of reaction liberated during the uptake of hydrogen. Advantages of the process lie in a simplification of the design of the storage structure and a high hydrogen capacity relative to the total weight of the storage device.
