PURPOSE:To enhance color forming sensitivity and stabilize a developed color image, by providing a thermal recording layer comprising an electron-donative colorless dye and a phenol compound having a specified substituent group and functioning as an electron-acceptive compound, on a support. CONSTITUTION:An electron-donative colorless dye and an electron-acceptive compound of formula I (Ar is a subtd. or unsubtd. phenyl, Y is a halogen, nitrile group, nitro or a 1-4C alkyl, an m is an integer of 0-2) are placed into a ball mill, a sand mill or the like together with an about 10% aqueous solution of a water-soluble high molecular weight compound, and are dispersed by pulverizing to a particle diameter of several micrometers, thereby preparing a coating liquid. The coating liquid is applied to a support such as a paper and a plastic film by use of a blade, an air knife or the like, followed by drying and a smoothening treatment to obtain a recording material. |
