PURPOSE:To lengthen drastically life of the whole of an iron skin by controlling a sudden temperature rise of the iron skin, by a method wherein the title brick is made an integrated one by arranging a magnesian/carbonaceous materials of high-carbon content and low-carbon content respectively on a hot end face side and a cold end face side. CONSTITUTION:The title brick is made an integrated one by arranging a magnesian/carbonaceous material 1 containing high carbon and a magnesian/ carbonaceous material 2 containing low carbon whose carbon content is lower than a working surface side are arranged respectively on the working surface side and an iron skin 5 side. Consequently, a temperature of the iron skin 5 can be reduced lower than that in the case where only a magnesia/carbon brick having high-carbon content is lined from the initial stage of use. Then treatment such as effective desulfurization, decarburization and dephosphorization can be performed while making the most of characteristics of the magnesia/carbon brick by preventing brick structure from becoming necessarily fragile due to oxidation. Then even at the last stage of the use of the brick, a sudden temperature rise of the iron skin can be controlled and life of the whole of the iron skin 5 can be lengthened drastically. |
