PURPOSE:To improve the development progress, the ratio of the sensitivity to the fog and the residual color of the title emulsion by subjecting the silver halide photographic emulsion to a chemical sensitizing treatment in the presence of a silver halide solvent in a step before a chemical sensitizing step and in the presence of an adsorbing substance of silver halide, and then by removing the adsorbing substance of the silver halide. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide emulsion is subjected to the chemical sensitizing treatment in the presence of the silver halide solvent in the step before the chemical sensitizing step, and in the presence of the adsorbing substance of the silver halide, and then by removing the adsorbing substance of the silver halide. The silver halide solvent is composed of a thiocyan salt or a thioether compd., etc. And, the adsorbing substance of the silver halide is exemplified by a compd. which is known as a spectral sensitizing pigment and an antifoggant. Thus, the development progress, the ratio of the sensitivity to the fog and the residual color of the photographic emulsion are improved. |
