PICTURE SIGNAL PROCESSING SYSTEM

A digital filter passes a specific frequency band of a digitised luminance signal. A non-linear processor is used for the filtered signal. An arithmetic function mixes the digitised input luminance signal either directly or after a specific time delay with an output signal from the non-linear processor. The passing band component of the high pass or band pass filter is suppressed or emphasized depending on the input signal amplitude of the nonlinear processor.
