A 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole deriv. of formular (I) is prepd. In (I), R1 is H; R2 is cyano or -C(=S)-NH-R3; R1 and R2 together are =C(NH2)2 or =C(R5)(NHR3'); R3 and R3' are H or -COOR4; R4 is (substd.) C1-10 alkyl, (substd.) C2-10 alkenyl or (sbustd.) phenyl; R5 is H or -S-R6; R6 is C1-4 alkyl, cyano C1-4 alkyl or pyridyl C1-4 alkyl. (I) and its salt are useful as an antiviral agent.
