<p>PURPOSE:To economically improve sealing performance by pressing each carbon seal to a clutch cover end surface and the collar portion of a cylindrical shaft with compressed air supplied to a seal chamber through a clearance gap and disposing an O-ring between the outer peripheral surface of the carbon seal and the inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical portion of a joint case. CONSTITUTION:Compressed air supplied from an air supply device of an air tank 30 or the like is passed through a rotary cylindrical shaft 22 and supplied to a piston operating air chamber 13 of a clutch cover 3 to operate a clutch. Simultaneously, some of compressed air in a joint case 21 enters the respective seal chambers 43, 44 through a clearance C to press the first carbon seal 36 to a clutch cover end surface 15 by pressure of the air and press the second carbon seal 37 to a cylindrical shaft flange portion 22a, whereby the rotary frictional surfaces 15, 22a are surely sealed. Further, both rings 40, 41 seal between the outer peripheral surfaces of the respective carbon seals 36, 37 and the inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical portion 46. Accordingly, the need of an oil pump and an oil passage is eliminated.</p> |
