PURPOSE: To obtain the horizontal scanner reduced in horizontal pitch and small in power consumption by operating a sense line switch by a state of the horizontal scanner having a plurality of stages and connecting a storage element to the sense line when a received operation signal is in a scheduled state. CONSTITUTION: A clockϕpropagates the operation signal to a stage 114 and an operation switching transistor(TR) 112 to transfer electric charges stored in a holding capacitor 108 to a sense line 50. An operation signal received through a line 136 is normally high. In this case, a clock signalϕ1 received through a line 44 is applied to a capacitor 124, but an alternating signal generated by it is shunt thereafter to Vss through a TR 132. Therefore, the clock signalϕ1 is unable to operate the gate 130 of a switching TR 112. The voltage signal stored in the capacitor 108 is still unchanged instead of being transferred to the line 50.
