PURPOSE:To fast forward audio data reproduced for a subscriber to quicken arrival at a prescribed position by making the frequency of the clock for audio expansion and D/A conversion higher than that for A/D conversion and audio compression at the time of input of audio data. CONSTITUTION:When reproducing of audio data is requested by a subscriber terminal 3 and audio data will be fast forwarded while being reproduced, a subscriber sends a preliminarily determined PB signal to an audio mail device from the subscriber terminal 3. In the audio mail device, the PB signal is received by a PB signal receiving part 9 and is reported to a control part 10. The control part 10 judges that the request to fast forward audio data for a preliminarily determined time is issued from the subscriber, and the control part 10 starts a clock control part 12 to set the frequency of the clock in an A/D converting and compressing/expanding part 6 to 16kHz for a certain time. This part 6 expands 4-bit digital data to eight bits. |
