PURPOSE:To make it possible to constantly maintain safety irrespective of the conditions in a space on the rear side of a room air conditioner, by sucking in air to be circulated in a room, through side faces of a casing of the air conditioner. CONSTITUTION:With an impeller 28 rotated by driving a motor 29, air on the outside of a casing 21 is sucked in through suction ports 30 opened in side faces of the casing 21 into the interior of the casing 21. The air thus sucked in is passed through a duct 25 formed between a heat exchanger 23 and an oil-supplying tank 24 toward the heat exchanger 23, thereby forming a hot air flow, which is ejected through an ejecting port 35 to the exterior of the casing 21 to serve for heating. A blower 26 is a centripetal-type blower for sucking in air from radial directions of the impeller 28 and ejecting the air in the axial direction of the impeller 28, so that sufficient blowing capability can be obtained without any air flow from the rear side of the impeller 28. Further, guide vanes 36 function to inhibits air from flowing out in the direction of the outer periphery of the impeller, whereby reverse flows are prevented from being generated, a stable centripetal flow can be secured even in a low flow rate region, and a high static pressure can be obtained. |
