<p>PURPOSE: To control a clutch so accurately that an appropriate relative slip is obtained by transmitting an axial force directly to a flywheel and a pressure plate through the hydraulic actuation of a fixed bellows actuator. CONSTITUTION: This friction clutch uses an input shaft 1, a clutch plate 4, a flywheel 5, a pressure plate 8, and the like, all of which are of standard design similar to those of the prior art. However, main springs used conventionally, such as a coil spring and a sun gear, are eliminated and an axial force produced by the hydraulic actuation of a bellows actuator 10 interposed between actuator rings 11, 12 is directly transmitted to the flywheel 5 and the pressure plate 8 to clamp the clutch plate 4. Therefore, the hysteresis of transfer torque becomes smaller and a clutch characteristic curve can be surely exhibited. Thus, the clutch can be controlled so accurately that a relative slip at, e.g. 50 to 100 rpm, can be obtained.</p> |
