PURPOSE:To very efficiently obtain a laser beam high in quality and small in a divergent angle by a method wherein an unstable type resonator of negative branching is employed as a wavelength transducer, which changes a laser beam generated inside a resonator into one smaller in wavelength, is provided near a focal point inside the resonator. CONSTITUTION:A solid-state element 1 is excited by a direct light from a flash lamp 3 and a light reflected from a converging reflective mirror 5 to be a laser medium; on the other hand, laser beams 9 and 11 generated inside a laser resonator composed of an outlet mirror 6 and a total reflection mirror 2 are amplified by the laser medium to a specified extent in magnitude and then a part of the beams 9 and 11 is taken outside as a laser beam 10. Here, a wavelength transducer 30 is installed near a focal point 13 to which the laser beam 10 is concentrated through the function of a high quality laser beam of the same phase to enable the projecting laser beam 10 to change almost into a secondary high frequency wave converted in frequency. |
