PURPOSE:To carry out good dispersion, enhance the volume ratio of whiskers and stabilize the product quality by filling a powder mixture of whiskers and thermoplastic resin in a powder filling chamber, vacuumizing, heating and pressurizing the same. CONSTITUTION:Whiskers like graphite whiskers are mixed with thermoplastic resin nylons 6, 6 uniformly and filled in a powder filling chamber 10. Then, a valve 12 installed in a pipe communicating with a vacuumizing device is opened to vacuumize the powder filling chamber. Then, the powder filling chamber is heated with a heater 14 for baking to make the thermoplastic resin in the molten state. At the same time, the same is pressurized through a piston 16. As the process goes on, the volume of the powder is decreased gradually until the same comes down to a constant value which is approximately 20% of original volume, the pressure of powder filling chamber is reduced to the normal pressure and a product is taken out. The material mixing ratio can be adjusted optically and the volume percentage of whiskers can be increased. Also, residual gas content between whiskers and resin is removed by vacuum, heat and pressure, and molten resin is permeated into the inside sufficiently which makes the structure extremely dense and stabilize the product quality. |
