PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a high-density recording head by sticking powder which contains a superconducting material for forming a latent image in a thin superconducting layer by heating the thin layer selectively according to image information, and visualizing the latent image with lines of magnetic force. CONSTITUTION:A recording body 1 made of a superconductor is cooled by a cooling device 12 below its critical temperature Tc to enter a superconductive state. Then an information writing means 2 heats the recording body partially to above the Tc according to the image information to form the magnetic latent image of a diamagnetic part and a paramagnetic part on the recording body 1. Then a developing device 4 sticks the developer 6 which contains the superconductor on the surface of the recording body to its overall width and the recording body passes between a magnetic field producing means 3 and a separating device 7 for the developer. At this time, lines of magnetic force leak from only the paramagnetic part on the recording body 1 which is formed by said heating and the developer 6 remains at the part on the recording body 1 which is not heated, thus visualizing the image information. Consequently, the need for an extremely small, precise magnetic head is eliminated. |
