The programmer of the invention comprises a cam unit 1, a reversal cam 2 constantly driven by a motor, a pawl 3 can tilt between a step-by-step drive position of the cam unit and a retracted time-delay position. A driving wheel 4 integral in rotation with the reversal cam includes stops 42, 43, a follower lever 5 arranged to interact with at least one of the stops 42, 43 and the time-delay lever, on each contact with one of the said stops 42, 43, manoeuvres a rocker 6 allowing the pawl 3 to pivot from the retracted time-delay position to the position for rotational drive of the cam unit by one step. Such a programmer allows shorter time delays to be obtained than the basic time delay, which is one step on each turn of the reversal cam. <IMAGE>
