A protective cap is described for a writing, drawing or applicator instrument, having a push-on part (14) and a closure part (16), which is connected to the push-on part, arranged in the push-on part (14) and covering the tip of the instrument (10). Between the push-on part (14) and the closure part (16), connecting webs (30) are provided in a uniformly distributed manner in the circumferential direction of the protective cap (12), by means of which passage apertures are defined between the push-on part (14) and closure part (16), their extension in the circumferential direction of the protective cap (12) being greater than their radial extent, and their overall cross-section being at least 5 mm<2>. The connecting webs (30) extend in the axial direction of the protective cap (12), and have a length which is less than the length of the closure part (16).
