The hitherto known holders work via surfaces which tighten with a wedge-like action and can lead to overstressing of the material in the face of pick loads occurring in various directions. According to the invention, a holder is proposed in which flat supporting surfaces acting in various planes absorb the forces exerted on the pick and transmit them into the basic body.
