The arrangement of the grinding track is placed, in this example, on the inner annular surface of the edge-mill bed; the outer annular surface is constructed as a grid track. With the same degree of processing and the same throughput quantity, on the basis of this invention in connection with the main patent application, the runner weights can in total be reduced by one half; accordingly, the edge-mill bed can be of a lighter design, the dimensions of the supporting construction and the foundation can be greatly reduced from their present values and the necessary energy requirement for the continuous operation is reduced approximately to half of the motor power.
