In a method for making a cable junction between two high-voltage cables, in which the insulation of the two cables to be connected together is removed in the junction region, the cable conductors which have been laid bare are electrically connected to each other and the region which has been laid bare by removing the insulation is refilled, it is proposed, after the making of the electrical junction between the conductors of the two cables and after the filling of the junction region, to push a tubular electrode, which at least partly consists of conducting plastic, over the junction zone and then to form a sleeve insulation in the junction region.
