PURPOSE: To obtain a composition useful for the improvement of feed efficiency, growth rate and carcass quality of a pig by comprising phenethanolamine and a growth hormone. CONSTITUTION: This composition consists of (A) ractopamine, cimaterol, clenbuterol, L-644969 or albuterol (these five compounds are collectively named as phenethanolamine in this invention), and (B) an extrinsic growth hormone related substance, preferably a growth hormone for pig or a pig growth hormone releasing factor. The decrease of the dressing percent, and the increase of blood glucose level caused by the administration of a growth hormone is improved by the administration of the component (A). The daily dose of the component (A) for a pig is 0.05-100mg, preferably 0.25-60mg, the component (B) for a pig is 0.5-10mg, preferably 1.5-6.0mg. |
