An energy converter, which operates according to the Stirling, Ericsson or a similar thermodynamic cycle, has an annular regenerator 4. The regenerator 4 has a greater throughflow area for the working gas on the heater side than on the cooler side. It can be made from strips of fine-mesh net which are wound in the circumferential direction of the regenerator, the cold working gas flowing into or out of the regenerator 4 on the inside of the ring and the hot working gas flowing out of or into the regenerator 4 on the outside of the ring. <IMAGE> |
