A safety apparatus for a supporting frame for weight bars is proposed, which comprises a pivotable, substantially C-shaped clamp (15). The clamp (15) is fixed by one end of its free leg laterally below the bearing surface to be pivotable on the supporting frame and, in the working position, engages over the dumb-bell bar (20).
