A shaft for landfill sites, consisting of a vertical plastic tube. The plastic tube is designed as a tube tapering conically towards the shaft bottom and having a smooth tubular outer wall. Separation of the settlement of the landfill body and consequently a reduction in the axial forces is thereby achieved, so that deformations of the plastic pipe or eventually damage to the plastic pipe in the waste fill need no longer be feared. <IMAGE>
