PURPOSE:To effectively use an optical head for the illumination of a linear scale, etc., by inclining an outgoing surface at an angle, in which a light beam is not full reflected, so that a light beam component to be partially divided and reflected by a beam splitter can be refracted and outgoing, out of the light beams from a light source. CONSTITUTION:A light beam outgoing from a semiconductor laser light source 1 is incoming through a collimator lens 3 to a beam splitter (BS) 40 and separated to two polarizing components in a joining surface 40a. Then, a polarizing component S1 is reflected in a left vertical direction to a polarizing component P-wave which is straightly advanced. The P-wave is passed through a lambda/4 board 5 and reflected by a mirror 6 in an upper direction by 90 deg.. Then, the wave is condensed on an optical disk 8 by an objective lens 7. The reflected light reversely advances and goes to a linear polarizing wave S1. Then, the light is reflected by the BS 40 and incoming to a reproducing optical system. On the other hand, the polarizing component S1 wave is bent on an inclining surface 40b of the BS40 and outgoing. Then, the light passes through a window 11a of a package 11 and irradiates one part of a linear scale 13, and a transparent auxiliary scale 17 is irradiated by the reflected light. |
