摘要 |
Although spark ignition and diesel engines nowadays exhibit a very high level of development, the requirements relating to clean fuels with the problem of knock rating, pollutant emissions, soot formation, noise, etc. are in the meantime becoming ever more complex, costly and expensive. The hot gas engine with its closed working process and its indirect heat supply, that is pressureless, continuous combustion, almost seems to have been created for just the requirements mentioned. Combined with the rotary piston principle it should be possible to overcome many serious disadvantages, which have hitherto stood in the way of series production of the Stirling engine. Future development in engine construction will have to take even greater account of environmental considerations, even if this is partially done at the expense of economy. The hot gas process could well take full account of this development without thereby adversely affecting the efficiency.
