Embedment of dangerous wastes containing heavy metals

Waste materials containing heavy metals and water soluble alkali metal ions of great mobility are mixed with dicalcium silicate in the presence of water to entrap toxic metals. The waste material can be ground and 1 to 45 wt% of binding material component, min. 20% of active CaO and 5 to 70 wt% of binding material component containing min. 20% of active SiO2+Fe2O3+Al2O3 added to the grist, in which the mechanical exploitation and activating of the waste is carried out by simultaneous grinding with 1-30 wt% of alkaline excitation component containing at least 20% of dicalcium silicate, by which component containing dicalcium silicate is set into chemical reaction with the water soluble alkali metal ions of the dangerous waste material in the presence of water. Dicalcium silicate source is especially blast furnace slays.
