PURPOSE:To prevent a photosensitive body from being rotated unnecessarily before image formation and to reduce the sensitivity deterioration and wear of the photosensitive body by starting the movement of the photosensitive body according to the rotating speed of a deflecting means. CONSTITUTION:When a print start signal is generated, a polygon motor 12 is powered on and rotated, and a pulse signal which is proportional to the rotting speed is generated by an encoder 1 at the same time and supplied to a CPU 3. The CPU 3 counts the pulse signal and accesses a reference table stored in its memory to read data corresponding to dot density data from a host computer. Then the data is compared with the counted value of the pulse signal from the encoder 1 and while the counted value exceeds the read data, the counting and comparison are performed repeatedly to send a start command to a preliminary rotation process when the condition is satisfied, thereby starting the preliminary rotation process according to a previously stored sequence according to the command. Thus, the preliminary rotation process is performed without any waste. |
