A purified tissue factor inhibitor is provided which has the following characteristics: A. it exists in two forms, TFI1 migrating at about 37-40,000 daltons and TFI2 at about 25-26,000 daltons, as determined by sodium dodecylsulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, B. it has a partial N-terminal amino acid sequence as follows: <IMAGE> wherein X-X has not been determined, and C. it exhibits inhibitory activity to Factor Xa. |
