PURPOSE:To enable the execution of a diagnosis with high reliability at the time of making a medical diagnosis by providing a polarizing filter to an optical system in a manner as to image only the light contg. image information to an image sensor so that a sharp image is displayed. CONSTITUTION:This endoscope has an optical fiber bundle 38 for leading out irradiation light to a subject A, the image sensor of a CCD 42 which receives the light contg. the image information of the subject A, and the optical system 44 for forming the image to the image sensor. The polarizing filter 52 is disposed to the optical system 44. The prescribed polarization component of the light reflected on the surface of the moisture 80 sticking to the subjected A is, therefore, prevented by the filter 52 from being received by the image sensor at the time when the irradiation light is reflected on the surface of said moisture. The photodetection of the unnecessary reflected light by the image sensor is thereby obviated and the image information of the subject is distinctly produced with good accuracy so that the exact diagnosis can be executed. |
