PURPOSE:To make the promotion of large size in an oil pump attainable without being restricted by the external form of an engine by setting up the oil pump in a space between a crankshaft and tappet valve camshaft, while setting up a pan part, returning lubricating oil out of the engine to an oil pan, in and around the oil pump. CONSTITUTION:A driving gear 12 is clamped to the lower end of a crankshaft 1, making this gear engage a gear 11 clamped to the upper end of a drive shaft 2. In addition, a driven gear 13 is clamped to the lower end of a tappet valve camshaft 9, connecting this gear to the driving gear 12 via a gear train 14. In a holder 22 where the drive shaft 2 is pierced through and the gear 11 is supported via a bearing 23, there is provided with an oil pump OP being connected concentrically to a first intermediate gear 15 of the gear train 14. Also in and around the oil pump OP in the holder 22, there is provided with a pan part 28 for lubricating oil to be dropped out of an engine. In addition, in a lower part of the holder 22, there is provided with an oil pan 30 receiving the lubricating oil being dropped out of a return hole 29 of the pan part 28. |
