PURPOSE:To shorten an initial microprogram loading time by providing a rewritable memory exclusive-use for reading to store a microprogram to a data processing unit main body and transferring the microprogram from the memory exclusive-use for reading to a memory for controlling at the time of loading the initial microprogram. CONSTITUTION:To a data processing unit 1 main body, a rewritable memory (ROM 21) exclusive-use for reading to store the microprogram beforehand is provided, the microprogram is not stored in an external storage device (fixed disk 7), the microprogram is read from the memory (ROM 21) exclusive-use for reading at the time of loading the initial microprogram, and the microprogram is transferred to a memory (RAM 2) for controlling. Thereafter, according to the microprogram stored in the RAM 2, the data processing unit 1 main body executes a processing. Thus, the microprogram can be transferred at a high speed, and the initial microprogram loading time can be shortened.
