TIME DIVISION ANTENNA SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To arbitrarily combine the directivity of an antenna by switching signals of a desired signal band width at a speed faster than a prescribed switching speed and combining the signals after performing A/D conversion on them. CONSTITUTION:Received signals from the n-th antenna (n) are switched by an antenna switch 2 and stored in a storage device 5 after the signals are subjected to low-noise amplification and frequency conversion at a low-frequency amplification and frequency converter circuit 3 and A/D conversion at an A/D converter 4. The information held by desired signals from each antenna element can be stored in the storage device without omission by switching the antenna switch 2 at a speed fester than 2BN when the number of the antenna element is N and storing the signals in the storage device 5 after A/D conversion by means of the AD converter 4 in accordance with a sampling theorem when the band width of the desired signals for reception is B. The signals from each antenna element stored in the storage device 5 are read out and added to each other by a controller 6. Therefore, the directivity of this antenna can be combined arbitrarily.
