PURPOSE:To lower the pressure and temp. of a hot press roll in fixing of a powder toner by using a toner core material formed by incorporating a coloring agent into a low molecular weight compd. having an ester bond, urethane bond, urea bond, amide bond or imide bond in the molecule by reaction of a compd. having a functional group. CONSTITUTION:The compd. which has 100-500mol.wt. and <=100 deg.C m.p. and is formed with the bond of at least one kind selected from the ester bond, urethane bond, urea bond, amide bond, and imide bond in the molecule by bringing the compd. having the functional group into reaction is used as the core material. The coloring agent is compounded with this compd. and the compd. is heated to the m.p. of the compd. or above to a molten state; thereafter, a hydrophobic polycondensable compd. is added to the melt and the melt is mixed and stirred in water contg. a dispersion stabilizer to form the emulsion of the toner core material. A hydrophilic material which reacts with the polycondensable compd. is added to the emulsion and an interfacial polymn. reaction is effected to capsule the core material. The heat energy and pressure required for fixing the toner in a hot press roll fixing system are thereby decreased. |
