PURPOSE: To effectively recompound the gas to be generated in an electrochemical battery by pinching a hydrophobic gas permeable thin film for coating a catalyst strip with two gas permeable metal layers so as to form the sandwich structure, and spirally forming this sandwich structure. CONSTITUTION: A device 1 is formed into the sandwich structure, which is formed of two outside gas permeable metal layers 2 and an inside layer 4. The inside layer 4 is formed of a catalyst strip 4a, and the strip 4a is covered with the hydrophobic gas permeable thin film 4b. This sandwich structure is spirally formed. The device 1 is fitted in a battery 31 by connecting the device 1 to a lower part 36b of a terminal 36. Oxygen and hydrogen to be generated by the fitting enter the device 1, and transmit the permeable metal layer 2 and the permeable thin film 4b so as to arrive the catalyst strip 4a. In the strip 4a, the gas generates the catalyst recompound so as to be changed to the steam, and goes out and it is condensed at the terminal part 36b. The condensed water is returned to the electrolyte 34 so as to supply the moisture lost by electrysis in the battery. |
